Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Reeqip uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owner. Some cookies are set by the website you visit (“first-party cookies”); others are set by third-party services embedded in that site (“third-party cookies”).
2. How Reeqip Uses Cookies
Reeqip is designed to be as privacy-friendly as possible. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or behavioural profiling. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar analytics platform that sends your data to third parties.
Your authentication token is stored in your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) — so our own session management does not require cookies at all. We do set a small number of functional cookies for security and payment purposes, as described below.
3. Cookies We Set
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| medusa_session | Essential | Admin panel session (Medusa back-office only — not set for regular buyers/sellers). | Session |
| __Host-next-auth.* | Essential | CSRF protection tokens used by Next.js to guard form submissions against cross-site request forgery attacks. | Session |
4. Third-Party Cookies — Stripe
When you reach the payment step at checkout, we load Stripe.js — Stripe's JavaScript library for securely collecting card details. Stripe may set cookies and use localStorage on your device for the following purposes:
- Fraud prevention: Stripe analyses device signals (browser fingerprint, IP, behaviour) to detect fraudulent transactions. This is necessary to process payments safely.
- Session continuity: Stripe may store a session identifier so that if your connection drops mid-checkout, your payment attempt can be recovered.
Stripe's cookies are essential to process your payment. You can learn more at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
5. What We Don't Use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, etc.)
- No third-party analytics that profile you across sites (e.g. Google Analytics)
- No social media tracking pixels
- No heatmap or session recording tools that capture your screen activity
6. Managing & Disabling Cookies
Because we only use essential and payment-related cookies, disabling them will affect your ability to use the platform:
- Blocking all cookies will prevent the admin panel from working and may interfere with Stripe's ability to process your payment.
- You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Common browsers:
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features or third-party services. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Reeqip after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
